The District that I am staying in is known as the French Concession area in Shanghai. It is downtown living with funny going on now and then. Take for example the road where my apartment is, Gao An Road, it’s a short little road in which you can see the extremes and in between.   You have people renovating an old mansion and then privatising it into a posh restraunt. Now and then you will see splendid sports cars waiting outside to drive in to this private mandion for a private dinner.   And then you have at the Junction where it’s a whole messy lot with motorcycle repair shops and small food vendors and stalls selling Sichuan Ma La Tang and East-Northern Chinese Dumplings.
