Watching a movie in China can be cheap, well, not really cheap, but definitely cheaper than in Singapore. Like 2 years ago, I remember watching a super lousy film at Lijiang for 3 RMB. It was Silent Hill 4. You can actually smoke at the theatre, as the projector streams the movie you can see the smoke slowly moving towards the projector fan. Of course, here in Shanghai, I’ve yet to see such a theater. You usually have to pay something like 30-80 RMB for a show. And before you actually watch one, you better ask whether the movie is played in what language. You can get all kinds of surprises if you don’t.
