A Treasure Hunt Tour that links culture and local Identity together

Understanding Culture and traditions is not always a library research chore. In fact, it can be fun. Like what YANA Adventures are currently doing, they had set up an entertaining Shanghai tour for people to join, called “Shanghai Treasure Hunt”. It is a game and tour combined in which the process helps the participants to understand the culture and daily living of simple Shanghainese, at the same time looking at slowly disappearing or evolving jobs. Luckily some of the disappearing jobs in the world are being recorded as intangible cultural heritage by various government bodies across the world.
I find this rather interesting. Because a simple Treasure hunt has imcluded so much meaningful things about a place in which culture, daily living, gastronomy are shown out in a fun way through a travel tour. It can successful link the public to an education much needed by foreigners or even to its own people, creating a sense of understanding among each other.
Just as I posted that Museums are agents for social change and development, the general public are just as important to create the atmosphere needed. I seriously hope that one day, in Singapore, something like this will turn out an can be successfully implemented and become well-received from the young to the old.
Just take a look below at the route of the Treasure Hunt:
