You can always meet someone interesting

While passing time, I met someone interesting. It started off with borrowing a light, to smoke myself off as time passed slowly, minutes by minutes, hours by hours. And when you are in a public area with a power socket that kept come loose, unstable internet connectivity, and a laptop with no battery, plus a laptop that burns at 98 degrees frequently, you tend to get frustrated and walked around.

And apparently as most people who wait and do nothing, sitting for long hours will make you dry. And any form of conversation will come along to pass time. Meet Mr Dov, who happened to be do the passing time thingy along with the hundreds of others around me.

Mr. DS

At first it was rather embarrassing to borrow a light again, but considering the fact that China is always confiscating my lighters, why would I bring one in the first place? Mr Dov and I started off a conversation, at first he thought I was Korean or something. We talked about many things, about Mexico, about travels, about his work, about life, love and many other things.

An energetic person who has to light up often, hee kept telling me things about New York(even drew up a map!), the city he lives in. A place where a majority of people are Singles, and those who ever wanted to get married, they should leave the city in order to do so. I reckon it has to be due to the fact that New York is on a ball city, where everyone is rushing to outperform themselves every second of the time. But New York is always a place I wanted to go to. If dad in the first had the ability to sent me over, I would have not chosen to go to Shanghai. And if I have the ability to pursue what I really desire, living off stipends and going to various Museums all over the world and work as an Intern, I would have gone over. But at the end of the day, when time finally rushes pass me and knocks me flat on the ground, reality sets in that I cannot do that without worrying about bread and butter.

I told Mr Dov about the Jewish Community here over in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Maybe one day he might be interested to come over to China. He is an interesting fellow who have commands in various languages, making him well-received anywhere in the world. Whether it is Singapore or China. The only one more language he ever needs is perhaps Mandarin(普通话). Who knows, being China, anything can happen.

Lastly, to all the Museums out there. Happy International Museum Day!
