In just three days before the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, I came across a news that is very disturbing. 16 officers were killed yesterday morning in Kashi City in Western China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. What happened? Attackers actually drove a dump truck into a group of policemen and openly threw explosives at their targets. According to the police, the truck ran into a power pole at the side of the road and the driver jumped out and threw explosives at the policemen. The driver actually blew one of his own arms off when he lit one of the his explosive devices.
